I wanted to start YouTube cooking channel for some time now. In my regular routine, in addition to Pop-ups and private dinners, I lead private Yakitori cooking classes and everyone has so much fun. However these classes are limited by the physical location and the reality that I can only teach few people at a time. However by recording my lessons, I can share what I know so far about Yakitori to a wider audience.

When I first started to learn how to make Yakitori in the beginning of 2018, there wasn't really any good resources for me to follow, especially in english, online. After months of piecing together whatever information I can find online, trial and error, and self-teaching while hosting dinners, I became more comfortable with Yakitori. It was also only until I went to Japan to work at the Yakitori shops, that I really understood the deeper nuances as well. All these knowledge I have, I wanted to put in video for the community to learn. What's taken me 2 years (and counting) to learn, I've put together a crash course so you can learn in few hours.

My new channel is up on YouTube.com/Yakitoriguy. I'm starting with my chicken breakdown tutorial, and every week I'm posting various lessons to help you make delicious Yakitori at home.

These videos are meant for beginners to professional chefs who want to learn everything from the basics to the advanced techniques and knowledge I've picked up from learning Yakitori from my Masters in Japan. I hope you enjoy the lessons and if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments as I'm happy to respond to them. Please subscribe to and share the videos with friends and family who love Japanese food, or are cooking at home and can learn how to break down a chicken!
